TEHRAN, June 22 (MNA) Irans deputy minister of industry, mine and trade has said the country had exported ceramics and tiles worth 450m dollars.On the sidelines of The 22ndInternational Tile, Ceramic & Sanitary Ware Fair, Jafar Sarqini told IRNA that minister of industry, mine and trade aimed at increasing the exportation worth up to 4 or 5 billion dollars.
In the exhibition last five years active ceramics and tiles producers exhibited their latest technologies in addition to digital prints on them.
All imported tiles and ceramics during last year soared to 1m square meters. The ministry does not welcome imports of ceramics, since it brings about competitions and indigenous products expansion, he said.
Iraq and Afghanistan are among the markets of Irans products of ceramics and tile industries.
Iranian products presence in far east shows that the Iranian producers are powerful enough to fill their bazaars, added he.
The 22ndInternational Tile, Ceramic & Sanitary Ware Fair opened in Tehran and will continue tillJune 25with 45 companies from twelve countries attending.
