'US, Israel threats against Iran destabilize region'

The illegal US and Israeli threats of a military attack against Iran fuels instability in the region and undermines international cooperation to resolve conflicts, a political commentator tellsPress TV.
We have Israel and the United States making overt threats to attack Iran. This is in violation of the UN Charter. Article 2 Section 4 expressly prohibits any state from threatening to attack or use violence or force against any other state, Mark Mason told Press TV on Saturday.

Mason added that by undermining the foundation of international relations, these international bullies hinder the resolution of conflicts across the globe.
We cannot have a regional solution to regional conflicts without ending these endless threats both from Israel and the United States to attack Iran, the political analyst said.
During a meeting with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on September 30, American President Barack Obama repeated Washingtons war threats against Tehran and said the US would take no options off the table with regard to Iran, including military options.

This is while during a landmark phone conversation with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani earlier in September, the two officials had stressed Tehran and Washingtons political will to swiftly resolve the dispute over Irans nuclear energy program.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif criticized Obama for his remarks, saying Obama is being disrespectful of a nation.

Zarif also warned Obama that his flip-flop and contradictory stances will destroy mutual confidence and urged him to show consistency in dealing with Iran to promote trust.

The United States, Israel, and some of their allies accuse Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Iran rejects the allegations, arguing that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
