1394 year in review: Iran's signed mutual agreements

Tehran, March 28, The Iran Project The following lists all the agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)signedbetween Iran and other countries in political, economic and military related fields. Ordered by time, it also may not reflect all of the cooperation agreements. In total Iran has singed tens of cooperation agreement with over 23 countries in the Persian year of 1394 (2015-2016). As it follows, Russia has been Iran's major partner in trade that has signed numerousagreement with Iran.

March 25 - nuclear agreement with 5+1

Irans nuclear negotiating team headed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Lausanne, to attend another round of talks with Group 5+1.After nine days of extensive talks among representatives from Iran and the P5+1 in Lausanne, the negotiating sides ultimately reached a mutual understanding that was jointly issued by Irans FM Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini. During his stay in Swiss, he held different talks with involving countries' negotiators.

April 7,Iran - Turkey sign 8 MoUs on mutual cooperation

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey signed eightMemoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on expansion of economic cooperation as well as one joint statement.

April 30 -Iran, Pakistan sign border cooperation MoU

The 18th joint border commission meeting of Iran and Pakistan ended with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) containing 26 articles by Deputy Governor General of Sistan and Baluchestan province for security affairs Ali Asghar Mir-Shekari and secretary general of Baluchistan province of Pakistan Seifollah Chata. The content of the MoU deals with different fields of border security, border trade, confrontation with terrorism, and organized crimes such as drugs, goods and human trafficking.

June 27 -Venezuela signs $500 mln credit line deal with Iran

Venezuela has signed an agreement with Iran for a $500 million credit line to fund joint investments and help improve supplies of goods necessary for the Venezuelan people.

July 14 - reaching the final deal with 5+1

Iran's top negotiator held tens of separate and joint meetings of talk with US and EU negotiator to bridge gaps among Iran, EU and US haveheld crucial talks ahead of the Monday deadlinefor the negotiations over Tehrans nuclear program.

After more than two weeks of intense political haggling in Vienna and frequent extension of deadline to finally nail down an elusive nuclear accord, the landmark nuclear agreement was reached Tuesday after clearing final obstacles.

August 5 - Iran, Italy ink MoU

Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyeb-Nia met Federica Guidi, the Italian minister for economic development, and stressed the necessity for doubling the current USD 1.5 billion volume of trade exchange between the two countries in near future.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed by the Italian Export Credit Agency(SACE), and the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI) andIrans Central Bank.

September 4 -Iran, Kyrgyzstan Ink 8 MoUs

During the state visit of the Kyrgyz president Almazbek Atambayev, Iran and Kyrgyzstan signed a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to promote mutual cooperation. Agricultural cooperation, the extradition of criminals, and a plan for increased cooperation between the two states foreign ministries, energy cooperation, air transport cooperation, consular cooperation, and cooperation among chambers of commerce were among the signed MoUsby two countries high ranking officials.

September 7 - Iran, Spain sign MoU

During the Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo's state visit, foreign ministries of Iran and Spain are to exchange delegations and sign a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation.

September 8 - Iran, Mexico ink MoU on labor, social security

Iranian Minister of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare and his Mexican counterpart signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of labor and social security.

September 8 - Iran, Austria ink agreements

During the state visit of the President Heinz Fischer to Tehran, both countries signed four documents for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the presence of the two countries presidents.

Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Austrian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management Andrae Rupprechter signed an agreement to boost environmental cooperation. The Iranian minister of industry, mine and trade, Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, and Austrian minister of science, research and economy, Reinhold Mitterlehner,also inked an agreement onholding the 8th meeting of Iran-Austria Business Council.

Some 15 cooperation agreements have been signed between Iranian and Austrian officials which are worth 80 million euros and their value can be increased fivefold.

September 14 - Iran, Ukraine sign MoU

Chairman of Ukraine Chamber of Commerce Gennady Chizhikov and Chairman of Irans Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines Mohsen Jalalpour Monday signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)on agriculture, industry, mining, transport and energy cooperation.

The MoU in agricultural sector includes food industry and animal husbandry, in industry it includes manufacturing spare parts for automobile and airplanes, in mining it includes mining industries, in transportation it includes railway, land road and sea transport and in energy sector it includes oil, gas and power plants.

October 4 - Iran, Romania ink trade agreement

Tehran Chamber of Commerce signed an MoU with the Romanian Chamber of Commerce in which facilitating trade ties between Tehran and Bucharest was stipulated. In a meeting between Chairman of Tehran Chamber of Commerce Masoud Khansari and the head of Romanian Chamber of Commerce two sides discussed facilitating trade ties between Tehran and Bucharest.

October 6 - Iran, Japan inkscientific cooperation deal

Iran and Japan have signed their first-ever deal to promote scientific cooperation between the two countries. The document was signed by Irans Minister of Education, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi and his Japanese counterpart Hakubun Shimomura in Kyoto.

February 5 -Tehran, Tokyo sign investment deal

Japan and Iran signed a bilateral investment agreement as the sanctions against Tehran have been lifted, Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told a press conference in Tokyo. A preliminary agreement on the issue was reached between the sides in October 2015, during Kishidas visit to Iran.

November 11 -Russia, Iran sign deal on Mi-17 Helicopter service center upgrade

The Russian Helicopters Company has signed contracts with the Iranian Helicopter Support and Renewal Company (PANHA) on upgrading its maintenance and overhaul facility for Mi-17 helicopters.

the first contract stipulates general conditions of providing technical assistance in retrofitting the center for maintenance and overhaul of Mi-17 series of helicopters and the second contract envisages general conditions for spare part supplies and instructions on Mi-17s maintenance and overhaul.

November 13 - Tehran, Moscow sign5 MOUs

Iran and Russia signed 5 Memoranda of understanding (MOUs) during the Moscow 12th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in Moscow.

November 18 -Tehran, Moscow sign 3-year cooperation agreement

Tehran Mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin here on Wednesday signed a three-year coopreration agreement between capital cities of Iran and Russia. Development of urban transport, urban planning, public services, housing and urban infrastructure, business promotion, civil and social services, and development of industry and innovation are stipulated in the agreement.

November 23 -Iranian, Russian presidents ink 7 cooperation agreements

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin inked 7 agreements and MoUs for boosting mutual cooperation. The documents were aimed at deepening and strengthening the existing cooperation and ties between the two countries. The deals were signed by the two countries high ranking officials at presence of their presidents on the sidelines of the 3rd Gas Exporting Countries Forum on Monday.

In one agreement between the governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation, the two countries foreign ministers agreed to facilitate mutual travel conditions for the citizens of the two countries, Iranian Presidents official website reported.

The electrification of railways between Garmsar and Inchebroon, assimilation of the two countries power transmission networks, the exploration and evaluation of deep groundwater reserves and for the construction of a power plant in Bandar Abbas were among the agreements signed by two sides.

November 22 -Iran, Turkmenistan sign 9 cooperation deals

Iran and Turkmenistan signed nine documents of cooperation. The documents were signed after a ceremony where Irans President Hassan Rouhani officially welcomed his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. The documents focused on various sectors, including healthcare and medicine, posts, construction of power lines, sports, transportation, roads and railway, standard organization and TV and radio.

December 1 - Iran, Hungary sign cooperation deals

During theofficial visit to Tehran, the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbn held talks with several senior government officials and signed various bilateral agreements, such as one of avoiding double taxation and another on intensifying investments.

January 5 -Iran, Afghanistan ink two cooperation deals

Iran and Afghanistan signed two cooperation deals on sports, and tourism and cultural heritage in a ceremony attended by First Vice President Eshagh Jahangiri and Afghan Chief Executive Office Abdullah Abdullah.

January 23 -Iran, China sign protocol for ICT cooperation

Top Iranian and Chinese officials inked 17 agreements and documents on bilateral cooperation on Saturday morning.Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Miao Wei on Friday signed the document for expansion of Iran-China cooperation in information and communication technology (ICT).

January 27 -Roadmap for Iran-Italy comprehensive cooperation published

Iran and Italy issued a joint communiqu at the end of President Rouhanis official visit specifying a roadmap for Iran-Italy cooperation in political, economic, cultural, Tourism, scientific and technology areas.

Iran and Italian governments vowed to support the other sides candidacy for membership in regional and international organizations and to support the UN peace initiatives in all possible fields.

Judiciary and legislative cooperation, and expansion of economic ties in all fields of mutual interests, reactivation of the joint economic commission, and cooperation in energy field, transfer of texts on scientific achievements, industrial cooperation, and making joint investments are among the other articles of the document.

Cooperation in agricultural and food industries, air, sea and land transports, environment preservation, banking and insurance are also included the comprehensive cooperation text, among dozens of other fields, such as tourism and cultural shared works.

January 28 - Iran, France sign deals

ran and France on Thursday signed a series of basic trade deals thought to be worth billions of dollars during a historic visit to Paris by the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Rouhani and his French peer Francois Hollande oversaw the signing of the deals that concerned cooperation in a range of sectors such as aviation, car manufacturing and oil among others.

During the state visit of Iranian president to France, Irans Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) on Wednesday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Louvre, one of the worlds largest museums, in the French capital. The MoU was signed during a visit to the museum by the ICHHTO Chief Massoud Soltanifar and his deputy for handicrafts and traditional arts, Bahman Namvar Motlaq.

Iran Air has signed a deal to buy 118 aircraft from Airbus in the first of an expected host of commercial deals expected to be announced during the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Paris. Rouhani and French President Francois Hollande are expected to oversee the signing of about 20 bilateral agreements.

February 13 - Iran, Ghana ink agreements

Ghana and Iran have entered into two agreements in the areas of oil and gas and petrochemical engineering. During the joint press conference in Tehran, President John Dramani Mahama said the agreements are in areas where Iran holds a comparative advantage and would further strengthen the Ghana-Iran relationship.

February 23 -Iran, Azerbaijan sign 11 MoUs in Tehran

In a high-profile ceremony in Tehran on Tuesday, senior officials from Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan signed eleven Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to promote mutual cooperation in a range of fields.

The MoUs entail cooperation on the prevention, restriction, and reduction of consequences in emergency situations; cooperation on mutual administrative assistance in customs affairs; cooperation on veterinary and livestock health; an agreement framework for power sale; an agreement framework for connecting the railroads of Iran and Azerbaijan; and an agreement on construction of a railroad bridge connecting the Iranian city of Astara to its namesake in Azerbaijan.

February 27 - Iran, Swiss inkscientific cooperation deal

During the Swiss President's official visit to Tehran, two countries signed six MoUs related to scientific and technological fields and the expansion of shipping and sea transport cooperation.

Meanwhile the presidents of Irans IUT and Switzerlands ETH signed an agreement to develop joint scientific endevours after meeting in Isfahan. The President of Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) Seyed Mahmoud Modarres Hashemi stressed on expansion of international relations of universities as a goal of the current administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

March 6 - Iran, Malta sign two MoUs

The Iranian and Maltese foreign ministers on Saturday signed two Memoranda of Understandingto increase diplomatic ties between the two countries foreign ministriesandbilateral cancellation of visa requirements for diplomatic and service passports.
