Tehran, Oct 20, IRNA - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has pardoned and commuted prison terms of 1,241 inmates on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha and Eid ul-Ghadir.
The decision, announced on Sunday, was in response to a request by Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani.

According to Article 110 of the Constitution, the Supreme Leader has the authority to pardon or commute prison terms of convicts upon a recommendation from the head of the Judiciary.
