Iran calls on global actors to protect int’l treaties

IRNA - Iran's Ambassador to Uruguay, referring to the US’ violation and its withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal, called on international actors to protect international treaties and arrangements.


The marking ceremony of the 40th anniversary of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, was held at the evening of Bahman 22 (February 11) with the widespread participation of high profile political, economic, social, cultural, media, military, economic activists, media representatives, representatives of political parties and NGOs of Uruguay at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Montevideo.

Ambassador Abolfazl Pasandideh in his speech referred to the principles of foreign policy of the Islamic Republic, the scientific, industrial and technological advancements of the past forty years, despite the pressure from the government of the United States and international sanctions, in a ceremony also attended by ambassadors and chairmen of the political representations at Montevideo.

Pointing out to the 117-year-old relationship between the two countries, the growing trend of Tehran-Montevideo relations and peaceful peoples of the two countries, he said, “Today, Iran’s Nuclear Deal as one of the most important achievements in international relations history, has been influenced by unilateral, illegitimate and contrary to international law of the ruling US government. Hence, the Islamic Republic of Iran warmly welcomes all logical actors of the international system, including Uruguay, for the protection of international treaties and arrangements.
