Iran’s steel output up by 19%

MNA – World Steel Association (WSA) reported that Iran’s steel production volume in 10 months of 2018 increased 19 percent.

According to the statistics, Islamic Republic of Iran produced 20,590,000 tons of crude steel since Jan. 1 up to Oct. 30, 2018.

World Steel Association (WSA) also put Iran’s steel production volume in Oct. 2018 at more than 2,070,000 tons, showing a significant 10 percent hike as compared to the last year’s corresponding period.

In this regard, 64 countries in the world produced totally 1,502,021,000 tons of crude steel in the 10 months of 2018, registering a significant 7.4 percent hike as compared to the same period of last year.

As a matter of fact, steel accounts for 48 percent export share of mining sector of the country.

Statistics showed that 5,860,000 tons of steel, valued at $2.78 billion, was produced in the country in the seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – Oct. 21).
