MNA Parliament Speaker Special Aide on International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian saidthat the White House only considers its own interests under any circumstance, and seeks to organize the presence of terrorists in the region.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Afghanistans Ambassador to Tehran, Nasir Ahmad Nour, on Monday.
Amir-Abdollahian said the US and NATO follow a double-standard policy in Afghanistan, adding we need to be more vigilant about the current developments taking place in the region.
He said despite the US call for ceasefire in Yemen, the Saudi-led coalition has intensified its aggression, and defenseless civilians are still being massacred.
Although the US claims to be fighting terrorism and making efforts to establish peace and security, it sets up military bases in Syria without first coordinating [with Syrian government] and backs terrorists, he added.
Amir-Abdollahian further maintained that the White House seeks to organize the presence of terrorists in the region in a bid to intensify pressure on countries that do not support its positions.
The Afghan ambassador, for his part, called for further regional cooperation in a bid to build trust among neighboring countries and to prevent the presence and interference of outside powers in the region.
