Press TV - The Iran�men's�national�under-19 volleyball team has exhibited an impressive performance in the final showdown of the 2017�F�d�ration Internationale de Volleyball�(FIVB) Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship in Bahrain, lifting�the trophy�at the end of the high-status event.
On Sunday evening, the Iranian team, which had trounced South Korea in straight sets (25-23, 25-20, 25-18) in a semi-final match the previous day, managed to prevail over the Russian side 3-1 (20 � 25, 23 � 25, 25 � 21 and 20 � 25) at the end of the title challenge held in the city of Riffa.
The�2017�FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship started in Bahrain on August 18, and wrapped up on August 27.
Iranian Minister of Sports�and Youth Affairs Massoud Soltanifar, in a message, extended his deepest congratulations on the outstanding achievement.
�The conquest of the top podium in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship by competent and capable Iranian youths is a source of pride and satisfaction. The title was clinched through the sustained efforts of Iranian managers, coaches and volleyball players in light of careful; management and effective cooperation," he said.
�I hereby extend my felicitations to all Iranian sports associations and the Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation, and wish young Iranian players further success in the future. I thank you all for bringing joy to the heart of all Iranians and making them proud,� the minister added in his message.
