Parliament speaker: Mali supports Iran’s stances in int’l fora

Bamako, July 28, IRNA – Malian Parliament Speaker Isaac Sidbieh in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif here on Thursday fully supported Iran’s stances in international organizations.


“My country supports Iran’s stances in the region and international bodies and this support is perpetual and resolute,” the Malian parliament speaker said.

He said that Mali is determined to deepen relations with Iran, and said, “In a recent meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani I lauded his personality.”

The Malian parliament speaker reiterated that the relations between Iran and Mali is very good, and said, “We are pleased with this good cooperation with Iran.”

Zarif arrived here in the Malian capital Thursday at the fourth and last leg of his tour to West Africa.

Zarif started his African tour on July 24. The tour took him first to Nigeria, then to Ghana, and after that to Guinea Conakry. He met and conferred with the top officials of these countries to broaden bilateral relations.

A high-ranking economic delegation has been accompanying Zarif during his African trip.
