Berlin, Mar 28, IRNA -- The West hast to learn to trust Iran and look at Tehran as a partner in resolving the numerous crises in the Middle East, the Hamburg-based weekly DIE ZEIT newspaper said in a commentary on Saturday.

It may be hard for the West to treat Iran as a partner rather than a 'rogue' state but in terms of realpolitik, it has hardly any other choice, the paper noted.


There will be no solution to the 'catastrophic war' in Syria without Tehran and the same goes for fighting IS (Daesh) in Syria and Iraq, it added.

The weekly urged the West to look at Tehran as a constructive player as most of the regional conflicts like Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan are in Iran's immediate neighborhood.

Iran is very much interested in restoring and preserving the territorial integrity and stability of Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, it said.
